From the fairways of Belmont, to the greens of Hazelmere and the stunning landscape of Swaneset, our dedicated team works behind the scenes and on the front lines to create unforgettable golf experiences.

President: Mike Stuart
A lifetime Lower Mainland resident, Mike graduated from UBC with both his Commerce and Law degrees and earned his Chartered Accountant’s designation with an international accounting firm in the mid-1980s. Mike has a keen passion for both golf and tennis and feels fortunate to work with a dedicated and professional management team. When not at the golf course, you will likely find Mike either fishing, boating or making his next travel plans.

Vice President: Troy Peverley
Troy started at Hazelmere in 1983. He graduated from UBC with a Commerce Degree with a Marketing Major. Troy’s role with the West Coast Golf Group grew with the addition of Belmont Golf Course in 1999 and Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club in 2006. Troy has been active with the PGA of BC and Canada and the National Golf Course Owners Association BC Advisory Board. In addition to a passion for golf, Troy enjoys all activities with his son Trevor and daughter Nicole.

General Manager: Frank Fourchalk
Frank Fourchalk has been a dedicated member of the West Coast Golf Group team since 1998. Over his 20+ years with the company, Frank has held various positions across different departments, gaining comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of golf course operations. As the General Manager, he oversees the operations of Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club, Belmont Golf Course, and Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club. Frank also serves on the National Golf Course Owners Association BC Advisory Board, contributing his expertise to the broader golf community.

Assistant General Manager: Kenny Hoogwater
Kenny has been a part of the West Coast Golf Group since 2009. Kenny graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley in May 2019 with his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, majoring in accounting. Kenny enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing a variety of sports.

Administrator: Dawn Beaton
A long-time resident of Langley City, formerly a resident of South Surrey, Dawn graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary. Dawn enjoys the role of Hockey, Soccer and Softball mom for her three children. When not busy at work Dawn can be found enjoying her time with family and friends. Dawn considers herself fortunate to work within a supportive and understanding management team allowing her a perfect balance with work and family.

Director of Golf: Dylan Andrews
Born in BC, raised in Australia and BC, Dylan started with the West Coast Golf Group in 2014 at Hazelmere Golf Course. Dylan began his career as a Banquet Server until the age of 19 where he transitioned into bartending for a few years as he pursued an education in Sports Management. What started as a part-time job turned into a great opportunity after graduation, as Dylan transferred into the Hazelmere Golf Shop before taking over at Belmont. He has a huge interest in all sports, so working in the golf industry is an ideal situation. When not at work, you will likely find Dylan at sporting events or spending time with family and friends.

Superintendent:
Rodney Burrows
Rodney attended Red River College in Winnipeg and received his diploma in Greenspace Management while working at Southwood Golf and Country Club. Director of Golf: Tracy Peverley
Tracy returned back to the West Coast Golf Group in 2016 after previously working at Belmont Golf Course from 1999 to 2012 and is a Class A Member of the PGA of Canada. Tracy graduated with Honours from the Camosun College Professional Golf Management Program in 1999. Tracy enjoys golfing, skiing, travelling and spending time with family.

Golf Shop Manager / Head Golf Professional:
Lee J.H. Lee
Lee J.H. Lee has been a member of the PGA of Canada since 2007 and spent the first decade of his career working with some of the world’s premier golf management companies at several tour-level exclusive golf clubs across the globe. Lee’s extensive industry experience has covered the range from indoor practice facilities (Riverside Golf Club, Calgary AB), to municipal (Cedar Hill GC, Victoria BC), to a world-class resort (Bear Mountain, Victoria BC), to a European Tour Venue (Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, Sharjah UAE), to the world’s leading golf management company (Meydan Golf by Troon International, Dubai UAE). In addition to his role as the Head Golf Professional at Hazelmere, Lee currently serves as the Tournament Director for Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour.

Assistant Golf Shop Manager: Dylan Andrews

Superintendent:
Sean Collins
Sean was born in the Fraser Valley his first love was hockey, both as a player and as a fan of the Canucks. Soon another passion emerged when his grandfather introduced him to golf at the age of 7. Sean started working at the Smithers Golf & Country Club when he was 15. After high school, he decided to pursue a career in the golf industry. He graduated from Olds College with a diploma in Turfgrass Management in 2012, and followed that up with going back to school for another year, this time studying Golf Course Management. Sean has also previously worked at the Osoyoos Golf Club, as well as working overseas in 2015 for a year in England, at the Stock Brook Manor Golf & Country Club, located outside of London.

Assistant Superintendent: Philip Southam
Philip grew up on a farm in rural Manitoba and began operating and maintaining agricultural equipment at an early age. He went to Brandon University after high school and earned a B. Sc, with a major in geology, becoming an exploration geologist and worked on projects in Canada and South America for 25 years. He joined the West Coast Golf Group in 2016 at Belmont Golf Course and began learning turf maintenance. In 2019 he joined Hazelmere Golf Course as an assistant superintendant with a focus on training and irrigation repair.

Assistant Superintendent: Mattias Benetti
Born and raised in South Surrey, Mattias joined the Hazelmere turf maintenance team in 2019 upon graduation from Earl Marriott Secondary. Keen on pursuing a career in landscape industry, he enrolled in a practical apprenticeship program through Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where he received his Interprovincial Red Seal (Journeyman) Certificate in Landscape Horticulture. When not at the golf course, Mattias can be found enjoying the outdoors, working on his truck and spending time with family and friends.

Executive Chef: Roger Planiden
Born in the West Kootenays of British Columbia, Chef Planiden has planted his roots in the Fraser Valley after spending many years of his career working in luxury hotels across Canada. His experiences with Four Seasons and Fairmont hotels have truly unlocked the true meaning of sustainable cuisine with the highest possible standards. Roger is no stranger to the Vancouver culinary scene. During his tenure at the Fairmont Airport Hotel, he had the opportunity to lead some of Vancouver’s most talented chefs through their culinary journey who had represented Canada in the Culinary Olympics. He made his mark in the wine industry spending three years as corporate chef with Vincor and the Great Estates of the Okanagan. When not in the kitchen you will find Chef Planiden golfing or fishing for salmon in our local waters.

Sous Chef:

Banquet Manager: Karen Boag
With 10+ years of experience in the Customer Service and Hospitality Industry, Karen puts her all into every event she coordinates. With a background in Marketing, and her many years working at multiple Golf Courses, she is always looking for new and innovative ways to expand and build the Banquet Department at Hazelmere. When Karen is not in the office, you can find her out golfing, or spending time with her family.

Event Coordinator: Hilary Macdonald
Hilary originally started working at Hazelmere in 2009 where she began as a banquet server. After graduating from SFU and pursuing a career in management and customer service, she fell in love with the hospitality industry. With her attention to detail and passion for event planning, she will ensure your experience at Hazelmere is one to remember. Hilary loves spending time with family and on her days off you can find her outdoors with her two young sons.

Event Coordinator: Julia De Jong
Julia has a passion for all things events. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail have served her well over her years in the hospitality industry. With her previous experience of managing fast paced restaurants, Julia has made herself a fixture on our team, demonstrating her excellent customer service, and drive to ensure all of the events run flawlessly.

Head Tennis Professional: Peter Knispel
Peter grew up in South Australia and then moved to Canada in his early teens. Most of Peter’s tennis was played in the lower mainland where he was ranked in the top five juniors in BC. Peter attended Miami Dade South College on a tennis scholarship. Peter turned pro in 1978 and played the USTA Pro Penn circuit in Florida and the Italian Satellite circuit. Peter coached for 34 years and is an NCCP/TPA certified teaching professional and a BCRPA certified personal trainer.

Tennis Facility Supervisor: Erin Goldie
Erin been in the customer service industry since starting my career, mostly working in non-profits. She took a hiatus when my son was born. When deciding to go back into the working world she applied for a position at Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club. starting out as a part-time receptionist, working my way up to front desk supervisor. Erin left that position after 6.5 years to be able to spend more time with her son. Once she started looking for work again the Hazelmere ad appeared and she just had to apply. Erin does not play tennis but enjoys watching it. Her 13 year old is now ready to put his foot into the tennis world which excites me that he has fallen in love with the sport I enjoy.

Director of Sales Marketing & Golf Operations: Tim Fuchihara
Tim is a Marketing graduate from BCIT. He brings to the team his exceptional standards for customer service, enthusiasm, professionalism, knowledge and strong interpersonal skills. Tim oversees Swaneset Golf Operations as well as Sales and Marketing for the West Coast Golf Group. Tim enjoys all aspects of the golf industry and motivates our team to provide excellent service. Tim loves to travel and plays golf whenever possible.

PGA Class A Professional: Tom Whittle
Graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Education in 1967. Joined Canadian Professional Golfers Association in 1970. He played the Canadian Tour from 1974 to 1980. Since 1993 he has been the head teaching professional at Swaneset Bay and has been responsible for managing and teaching the summer resident Junior Golf Camps and the Junior-Junior program. He has a passion for the game and has worked with all levels of players from beginners to tour players. He is constantly striving to increase his knowledge of the game and regularly attends seminars by some of the best-known teachers in the industry.

Superintendent:
Kirk Hertzog
Kirk started at Swaneset in 2024. As an experienced Superintendent, Kirk brings a wealth of knowledge from Kwantlen Polytechnic, School of Horticulture, Turfgrass Management Program and the golf industry having worked at several local facilities and is poised with his team to take the Swaneset courses to the next level of golf course conditioning. Kirk enjoys golf and time outdoors as well as spending time with his two daughters that are currently enrolled in the University of the Fraser Valley and UBC.

Assistant Superintendent: Richie Kraakman

When he’s not cooking, Chris enjoys practising martial arts and getting outdoors.

Food & Beverage Manager: Deanne Fair Schell
Deanne joined the Swaneset team in 2013 as a Catering Coordinator and has also filled the role of Catering Manager. Deanne has a Bachelor of Arts degree from SFU and an Event Management Certificate from Mount Royal University in Calgary. As Food and Beverage Manager, Deanne strives to ensure that every guest of Swaneset enjoys their dining experience. She is passionate about food and wine and enjoys travelling to places where she can explore wine regions and local dining. When not at work, Deanne is often canoeing or camping with her family or just enjoying a good book with a great glass of wine.

Catering Sales Manager: Holly Robinson
Holly started at Swaneset in 2003. She graduated from BCIT with her diploma in Sales and Marketing. Holly has been a part of over 800 Weddings and Events with Swaneset. Her education and experience with events have made her an expert on the perfect wedding, which is right here at Swaneset. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her new family and getting outside in the sunshine.

Catering Manager: Danielle Mahon
Danielle received an Event Management Diploma in 2014. She started at Swaneset in 2016 as a Wedding and Events Coordinator and was promoted to Catering Manager in 2020. She has always had a passion for weddings and found Swaneset an outstanding place to put her skills to work. Her detail-oriented and calm personality is perfectly suited for her role. A month or so before your event Danielle gets together with customers to organize everything to create a perfect day. On the big day, she will be there to help execute every detail from the ceremony until after dinner.

Hello! My name is Michelle, I’ve always had a passion for creating unique and beautiful experiences. This passion led me to graduate from BCIT in 2013 with an Associate Certificate in Marketing Management with a focus on Event Marketing and Event Planning. I joined the event coordination team at Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club in January of 2018. As a professional wedding specialist, I believe the key to creating a one-of-a-kind lifetime event is through the support I give to clients from the beginning to the end of an event.

Cheyenne Fitzpatrick
Hello! My name is Michelle, I’ve always had a passion for creating unique and beautiful experiences. This passion led me to graduate from BCIT in 2013 with an Associate Certificate in Marketing Management with a focus on Event Marketing and Event Planning. I joined the event coordination team at Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club in January of 2018. As a professional wedding specialist, I believe the key to creating a one-of-a-kind lifetime event is through the support I give to clients from the beginning to the end of an event.
